Joe is a songwriter and story teller like no other. This song evokes emotion and makes you pray he gets his woman back.

Of course a Clark sister would end up on my list! One of my favorite vocalists of all time.. Karen Clark Sheard pleds for God to show is glory in this song. By the last 15 seconds.. I'm slain.

New Music Tuesday | Black Radio

Two words I love to hear. His name brings a dreamy smile upon my face. (I'm something like a fan)
Today is highly anticipated album "Black Radio" was released.
I grabbed it via iTunes around midnight.

I must say.. I am EVEN more impressed with him now than I was before. I've been a fan for years, and he seems to keep evolving into something greater. (thats the plan)

Black Music Month: It's all about us

June is over. Today is the last day of June and I for one am a little sad to see it go.
For the past few years, the month of June has been known as Black Music Month, and that is something I am truly proud of.
I hope over the last 30 days you have been enriched with great music from your favorite artists... I know I have.
Over the past 30 days, artists like, Jill Scott, Beyonce, The Foriegn Exchange, Pitbull, Big Sean.. and several others have shared awesome music with us.

Music Monday | J Dilla, Happy Birthday Sir

He would have been 37 today.

The musical genius that was J Dilla, Jay Dee, or Dilla as I call him, was born James Dewitt Yancey this day in 1974. His gift is unmatched, and the music world still feels the lost of this great, who passed away February 10th, 2006 with complications from Lupus
Here's to you Dilla, the gifts you left are jewels, and everytime I hear them, I'm amazed and captured all over again. Happy Birthday Sir. Now mix, with the heavenly choir.

Phonte + Nicolay= The Foreign Exchange.

The grammy nominated duo released their 3rd album Authenticity last Tuesday, and let me assure you, it is soon to be a CLASSIC. Awesome production, and clean writing make this FEMusic album one of my favorites.

Album Review: Y'anna Crowley

The Season Two winner of BET's hit gospel sing-off competition Sunday's Best winner Y'anna Crowley

released her debut album The Promise today, Tuesday August 24th.
Beautifully writter and perfectly arranged Y'anna's debut album is sure to be a blessing to music lovers young and old.
Her vocal styling is pure joy. The elegant runs, serious squalls, and her slight vibrato makes me smile from ear to ear.
Pick this album up!! Trust me, you will enjoy it!
My favorites from the release are: "You're still God" "Well done", "Stronger" and "Looking toward heaven"

Music Review: Kool's Bazaar

Fact: Indianapolis has a fairly small indie music scene. A few months ago, well more like almost a year ago, I kept hearing about a, awesome jazz/neo-soul/ hip-hop/spoken word group by the name of Kool's Bazaar, that was TEARING up the Indianapolis music scene. I wanted to hear this group, YET everytime I wanted to hear them, I kept missing out. FINALLY a few months ago- I was able to catch the smooth, cool, awesome, ecelctic sound that is Kool's Bazaar.

Kool's Bazaar released their debut album: The Kool's Bazaar Experience recently and let me tell you: IT IS GIVING ME LIFE!

The live band is simply awesome. The lead singer Nas, thrills me with her riffs, and runs, and her unique sound.

Anywhoo, today I want to share the gift of music with you via this awesome band, I've began grooving to for a few months now. They are Kontraband Musik, which is an eclectic  mix of rock, hip-hop and neo-soul, also known as mash-up music.
