Morning Devotion: Damaged Goods
Happy Monday!
I had to share this small portion of my morning devotion, I hope it blesses you as it did me.
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." Psalm 51:17 (NIV)
Don't judge too quickly. My damage has not defined me...but, it is refining me. I may be at the bottom of the life's bin, but Jesus paid as high a price for those of us at the bottom as He did for those that are proudly displayed on the top shelf.

Happy Father's Day
Today is the day we celebrate the men and women who have taken on a fatherly role in our lives.
We salute you with gifts like grills, ties, and steak dinners, but we also show our appreciation for the little things you do. Those little things add up to be such big memories- how to change a tire, our first date, or the last kiss before we walk down the aisle.
Today, I wish my mother Anita, A Happy Father's Day, the allthough I have a dad, the duel job you've done for the past 10+ years has been amazing. You took on the double role with grace and style like no other.
I praise God for sending me a mom, and a father like you.
To all the Father's (in whatever capacity that may be) Enjoy today. It's all about you. Thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Good Morning, and Happy Thanksgiving you to and yours!
Today I am thankful for my life. Things may seem bad or not the way I would want them, but in reality someone didn't wake up this morning. That someone could have been me. I'm thankful for the wonderful husband God sent me. I know there are times when I drive him crazy, and he doesn't know what to do with me, but I'm thankful for him, and I'm so thankful to be his wife. I am also the loving friends and family that are in my life. I believe that my friends (online & offline) are my angels here on earth. The support and love of my family is truly a blessing, and I'm glad to my family is MY family. Lastly, I am thankful that I am safe, on the road to a healthier life, and happy, not many people can say that they are happy in these trying times. Life may not always be what we hoped for, but it is life and life is what YOU make it.
Happy Thanksgiving, and Be blessed!

When it's time to let go: Friendship
Give me a good friend, and I'm happy for life. I'm a Cancer, and we tend to hold on to friendships for live, even when we know we shouldn't. So the thought of letting a friend go makes my stomach hurt and my head ache. I've even prayed about it.Currently, I'm at a crossroads, I have this friend that I've known for years, were close, and consider ourselves more of sisters then we do friends. Lately, I'm feeling that things are different, and not in a good way. Change is good in most cases, but not when it involves a friend that is holding up their end of the friendship bargain. I feel as if I've been more than a great friend and sister, but my needs of the friendship aren't being met. So, what does one do when a cherished friendship has run it's course? How awful is it realize that this friendship you have shared for 12 years is no longer serving its purpose?
From the looks of it, a good house cleaning on friends is in order. Hard to do, and much easier said than done, but I've got to do what is best for me. As much as I love this friend, and have shared most my life with this person - our lives are at different forks in the road. My road leads on way and their road is leading another.
Losing a friend is hard, but sometimes it may be the best thing for you.-and I'm ok with that.

True Compassion
Good Day Folks!
Today I learned a lesson in compassion from a woman that I admire very much-my mother.
To make a long story short. Today my mother reached out to and lent her hand, and heart to my newly acquired step mom, along with my dad who seem to be going through a rough patch right now. My mom took it upon her self to reach out bless her with a few food items to help get them (my dad, step mom, and 4 children) through their rough patch. Not only did she reach out, but she had a long, much needed, tear-filled chat with her. She spoke about as two women, they need to be there for one another, and support each other, not only as women but because they are FAMILY. Talk about compassion. Talk about showing tenderness in world that is constantly shutting doors in people's faces.
My mother could have easily turned her cheek, and said "not my problem". But she didn't. She decided to be a blessing to someone.
Thanks for the lesson mom.

Mess of the Week
I had to post this.. I received this on email this morning.. Just Messy!
Tennessee man tells child support court he has 21 children
Desmond Hatchett says 21 children is enough for him. As if Octomom wasn't bad enough, a Tennessee man, 29 year old Desmond Hatchett has now fathered at least 21 children he can't support. Hatchett was in child support court again last week. His name appeared on the dockett 11 times in one day, representing 15 of his children. Hatchett says he wasn't out to set a record. He says he never intended to have this many children, "It just happened." He fathered the children by at least 11 different women and he claims all of the mothers knew about his large family. The children range in age from newborn to 11 years old. The question Knox County officials now face is how to support all these children. Hatchett works a minimum wage job and by law the state can only take 50% of his paycheck for child support. By the time that money is split 21 ways, some of the mothers get less than $2 per month. That leaves the taxpayers footing a large portion of the bill for these children. Even though Hatchett can't support the children he has, there is nothing the state can do to prevent him from having more. Hatchett reports that he had 4 children in one year, twice. He says he's done having children now, but only time will tell. He does say that he's a good father and knows the names, ages, and birthdates of all of his children. All of the blame can't be placed on Hatchett in this case. One has to wonder about the women who chose to have his children. In the end, the children and the taxpayers of Tennessee will pay for their choices for years to come.

The Break-Up: Part Two
Whoever said breaking up is hard to do, hit the nail on the head.
Breaking up with someone in my opinion no matter how long you were together is one of the hardest things that you can go through. From the tears, the evil words that were spoke, to the giving back of gifts, to the awkwardness of seeing each other out in public afterwards, breaking up generally just sucks. I've been through more than my share of few breaks-ups, and out of all of them I can remember walking away from only one of them thinking "Wow that was easier than I thought." The whole do-da just stinks.
The entire process of a break-up is physically, and mentally draining on everyone involved, heck its even draining on the folks that are trying to be supportive of the two or three (in some cases) people trying get on with their lives. Speaking of which, oh the supportive friend, let me tell you from experience, that is a HARD job to fill. In my experience it's either on one side you want your friend or family member to be happy or you just want it all to just end nice and quick. In some cases you want both.
Whatever side you are on know this.. breaking up with someone can changed your life for the better or for the worse- it's up to you to decide on how.
~Peace

Thursday Thoughts: Co-workers

The Co-Worker.
Co-workers that we like? How many of us have them? I work in a fairly large office over 200 people can be actively working on any given day in my office-That means a ton of different attitudes. All of these different attitudes can sometimes cause friction between co-workers. Question of the day: How many of us actually have co-workers that we genuinely like?
Think on it.

When over is really over: The Break-Up, Part 1

I hate breakups.
I have a friend is going through a rough patch with a her guy. Well, I guess its no longer a rough patch, as of this weekend, they are officially over. This has been the worst break-up I have ever witnessed.
Sad to say, I am relieved. I hurt for my friend, but I KNOW there is someone much better out there for her. She is beautiful, talented and a wonderful person all around. I hope that in all of this craziness, she knows that she is much better without him.
They had been together for years, (more than 5) and there was no indication of a marriage proposal. Over the last few years, I have witnessed this relationship go from bad to worse. On a side note, I grown to know her mate and we have become associates, somewhat friends. Now, I can't even look him in the eye. If I see him on the street..Well.. let's not go there.
I only hope things will get better for me friend. I know they will. I've got faith in her.
